These conditions do not mean that you have a dirty skin, but they can be minimized by careful and frequent washing with a mild soap to stop bacteria from spreading, and to control acne outbreak. Adult acne
An increasing number of adult women, many of whom never suffered from acne as teenagers, are now arriving in dermatologist clinics with late onset acne with poor acne control. The causes are varied but may include some or all of the following:
* Oral contraceptives which raise levels of progesterone, throwing acne control out of balance.
* Stress - which increases androgen production (common in hard-working career woman)
* The menopause - when androgen levels rise as oestrogen levels fall
* Endocrine disorders - such as ovarian cysts or tumours

A variety of cream and procedures can minimise the appearance of acne scars and to help acne control, but it's important to realise that none can make a deeply "pock-marked' complexion baby smooth again.
