Breast reduction surgery is a viable procedure in both women and men. Women usually have a breast size that it proportionate to their bodies. During a consultation, it is common practice that the surgeon explains risks and benefits of having breast reconstruction. The risk involves possibility of scarring, differently sized breasts and issues with breastfeeding. This is important to ensure that you know what to expect from this procedure.

The recovery period is usually relatively fast. Patients have reported a recovery period of up to one month, and the scarring usually get lighter and almost unnoticeable after six months. Therefore, it is a relatively easy procedure to recover from.
