Hair treatment such as conditioners are widely used to put the shine back into hair and works wonders as a hair treatment to restore its natural lustre. It works to repair the follicles of hair itself and due to its smooth silky nature, it can also be used as a detangler (similar to creme rinses).

The various types of hair treatments available on the market to promote hair health are large and varied. The following list describes some of those available:

Basic conditioner: The conditioner coats the hair with a fine film, temporarily smoothing down the cuticle and making hair healthier, glossier and easier to manage. Leave for a few minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

Leave-in conditioners:This hair treatment can be used once a week to deep condition and nourish your hair. For people with fine hair, it is a good idea to use this during shower and rinse off immediately. However, for people with dry hair, you might want to leave it on for a little longer as you tend to get better results from leaving it for a longer time.

Conditioning sprays: This hair treatment are used prior to styling and form a protective barrier against the harmful effects of heat. They are also good for reducing static electricity on flyaway hair. Hair treatment such as this is also known as crème rinse.

Intensive conditioners: This method helps hair to retain natural moisture balance. Use when hair is split, dry, frizzy or difficult to manage. Distribute conditioner evenly thorough hair and leave on for two to five minutes, or longer. Rinse very thoroughly with lots of fresh, warm water, lifting your hair from scalp to ensure all residues are washed away. There are more such as hot oils, leave-in conditioners, restructants, split end treatments/serums and colour/ perm conditioners.

The many types of hair treatment and hair conditioners make it a difficult choice to choose one for yourself. However, keep in mind that there is one that will be suitable for yourself. Depending on your hair texture and volume, pick one that will bring the best outcome for you. Having smooth silky hair is possible with the right hair products too.
